Attention European sellers! Without this label, goods will be confiscated by the police!

According to Spanish media reports, recently, in many places in Spain, the financial and border detachment of the National Guard seized and blocked a total of 118,000 pieces of food and cosmetics for sale, because these products were not labeled in Spanish.

It is reported that the confiscated food and cosmetics come from a well-known supermarket chain. These goods do not meet the Spanish product labeling regulations, but they are sold to the public without Spanish product labels and instructions, which violates the Spanish labeling regulations. In view of the failure of the company affiliated to the supermarket chain to comply with the above-mentioned laws and regulations, the relevant law enforcement departments have prepared a total of 32 sanctions suggestions, which have been sent to the health and consumer delegations of the provinces affected by this incident.

According to Article 6 of Royal DecreeNo. 85/2018 of Spain, “label information must be marked in Spanish” for cosmetics kept in Spain. Similarly, Article 18 of Royal DecreeNo. 1334/1999 stipulates that “mandatory instructions on food labels sold in Spain must be marked in official Spanish”.
