On October 6, e-commerce platforms Back Market, eBay, Etsy, ManoMano and Rakuten reportedly announced the formation of the Alliance Francaise des Places de Marche, The association wants to be a “voice” for the industry “when new EU regulations apply”. ManoMano, an e-commerce platform specializing in DIY crafts, will serve as the alliance’s rotating president for the first six months.
“The formation of the alliance will enable us to participate more effectively in public voices as a link between public authorities and the e-commerce ecosystem,” said a statement from the News High School. Sebastien Duplan, ManoMano’s director of public affairs. In particular, the association will focus on digital services law and regulations related to the general safety of European products.
Over the years, market share has become crucial in the e-commerce industry. All the big French ecommerce platforms now have their own products, such as Amazon. The five founding members of the alliance are pure sales platforms and do not sell products under their own names.
